Leaves: Leaves when crushed give camphor smell, alternate, elliptical, egg shaped, 3 veins distinct, young leaves burgundy colour soon turns dark on dorsal surface and pale green on ventral surface
Flowers: Greenish tiny flowers, perianth 6, stamens 5 to 9
Inflorescence: Terminal panicles
Fruits: Drupe, reddish when young turns black
