Culm sheath: Upto 12 cm × 13 cm, dorsal surface rough, ventral smooth and shiny, apex conical, appressed reddish brown stiff hairs, leaf blade triangular or chordate conical at base, auricles and ligules present
Leaves: Lanceolate, apex pointed, Upto 21 cm × 3 cm, both the surfaces rough, midrib prominent, many secondary veins visible
Stems: Erect, green, lateral branches spreading and dendroid
Internode distance: Upto 60 cm
